NOW's integrity gives rise to its credibility; NOW's credibility is a result of NOW's consistency: NOW can be relied upon to fight for social justice and the liberation of the human spirit. Clarity of vision, consistency of commitment, integrity of its advocacy: these are the fundamentals that empower this organization to lead the fight for women's Equality. And these are the fundamentals that I see in Kim Gandy as President of NOW, and in Kim's leadership team.

NOW connects the dots between policy and philosophy, and Kim Gandy has never wavered in her advocacy for women- all women/young or old, activists and homebodies, straight or gay, black white brown.

Most important, Kim's actions speak louder than her words.

Whether lobbying on the hill, analyzing legislation, intervening in the courts, supporting women in the colleges, or the military and its academies, or in the workplace, under Kim Gandy's leadership, NOW provides the women of America a network of activists who are dedicated to make this country live up to the promise of equality that is at the heart of our national ethic.

Kim and her team have kept faith with NOW's commitment to remain issue oriented. As a lawyer, Kim has been able to navigate the minefields of public policy and avoid the hype and spin and personality politics that dooms so much progressive action. As a feminist, she has consistently put both the long and short range interests of women first. Her energy and clarity of vision motivate her support and advocacy for women's issues in a variety of venues, including the courts and the Congress, and coalitions that foster NOW's goals. I hope every member will vote to keep her at the helm of our organization in this time of Right wing dominance.

Just as NOW PAC endorsements have always been earned, not on personality or popularity, but on what had been done time after time, issue after issue, my endorsement of Kim Gandy and her Act For NOW team is based on the issues, the agenda and the candidates' work. I whole-heartedly endorse Kim's team for election in Nashville. NOW more than ever, America needs the dedication and proven deeds of Kim Gandy, Olga Vives, Latifa Lyles and Melody Drnach.
