Olga Vives has been serving as Action Vice-President of NOW since July 2001. In her current capacity, Olga has been leading the grassroots organizing efforts for NOW. Successful campaigns organized under Olga’s leadership include the March for Women’s Lives in April 2004, the largest march for reproductive justice ever held in Washington, DC, the “Equal Marriage” campaign to promote equality of marriage in the United States, the campaign against Wal-Mart, NOW’s latest Merchant of Shame, “Our Courts at Risk” campaign against right wing judges, among others. Also, Olga was instrumental in developing the concept for the “Truth about George” site and the election-driven “10 for Change” program.

Prior to serving as Action Vice-President, Olga was a sales and marketing professional and a NOW activist. She has been chapter president, state Action VP, National Board member and Regional Director, and was Chair of the National Lesbian Rights Committee and a member of the National Political Action Committee. Olga also brings many insights from her experiences as a mother of three, an immigrant, a lesbian and a Latina.
